Questions
Extensions: FAQs
Do I need planning permission for an extension?
Some smaller extensions fall under permitted development in Scotland, while others need planning permission. Most extensions also need a building warrant. We will talk you through what applies to your property during the first visit.
How long does an extension take?
It depends on size and design, but most single-storey extensions take a matter of weeks on site once warrants are in place. We give you a realistic timeline with your quote.
Can I stay in the house during the work?
Usually, yes. We keep the site tidy and secure, and plan the work so the disruptive stages, like knocking through, happen as late as possible.
